Many people love a rural setting, with large blocks of land and lots of privacy. But the problem is that this wonderful setting comes at a high price by being far outside of town. This high price is the time and cost of travel to and from the city.
Acacia Park is different since it is a rural development which is less than 4 km from the Central Business District (CBD) of Whangarei.
Once you enter through the Acacia Park gate, you will not see street lighting or paved foot paths; it really has a rural feel. What you will see is some stunning views of the Whangarei Harbour, the Heads, and bush.
To the South of Acacia Park is a quarry. The quarry is a good neighbour since they make minimum noise and preserve the land in its natural state.
What is the noise level? Most of the time it is dead silent. Few residence hear anything from the quarry.
Acacia Park owners wanted to minimize outside traffic by installing a front gate. But to make the development gated, the roads needed to be private.
So this is the one compromise; private roads. Owners need to pay for the upkeep of the roads.
The current fee is $600 per year. This turns out to be $50 per month. But when you think about the fuel costs that you save, it is well worth it. Even for just one vehicle, you will be paying more than $50 extra per month in fuel costs living just a few kilometres out of town. Also remember you are not only saving fuel, you are saving time.
There was no need to create a complex association only to maintain roads. So Acacia Park is special in that it association is simple: focus on roads and keep costs down.
Here are the association details.
Unlike many other gated communities, Acacia Park does not have any special rules that are enforced by the association. Just follow the covenants contained in your title.
Here are the voluntary rules that we would like you to follow.
